On May 24th, Forbidden Planet NYC played host to the crazy crew from Troma to celebrate the limited Big Box VHS release of the original Toxic Avenger! Llyod Kaufman, Troma founder and the man behind such classics as Nuke ‘Em High and Tromeo and Juliet, was on hand to sign posters, chat with fans, and pass out yummy cupcakes!

With the Avengers movie set to premiere in a mere two days, it’s mighty hard to concentrate on anything else! But concentrate we must, as there’s all manner of exciting things in the store this week! Minimates of Iron Man, Cap, etc, new #1s from DC’s second wave of New 52, plus some cool indie books like Henry and Glenn Forever and Ever!
More controversy this week as two big-name comics authors lay the smack down on the major publishers! But that works out alright by us, because there are plenty of fantastic small press books to look at too! And with the MoCCA Fest just around the corner, now’s a perfect time to check out some of the comics that might otherwise be under your radar!
So much to cover today! Tons of number ones, including Secrets and Alabaster, not to mention the anticipated Saga #2!
